The support we receive is a huge driver of the good work we do in addressing some of society’s most challenging problems. Get in touch today and join our community in making a lasting impact.

Become a Mentor: We believe every child deserves to access to supporting and caring adults!

  • Have you had the honor of being a child’s friend?

  • Have you seen the world through the trusting eyes of a child?

  • Have you listened to a child’s dreams?

  • Have you ever engaged in thoughtful conversation with a child?

We ask for:

  • Regular contact and a one-year contact. This is important to establishing and building the relationship.

  • It is the responsibility of the Mentor to maintain regular contact, plan activities, and get approval with the Mentees parent/guardian.

  • Expenses should be kept to a minimum. The time and friendship is more valuable.

Kinship will provide initial and ongoing training. The Program Coordinator is there throughout the match to support the mentorship in every step.

Refer a Child: Do you know a child who could benefit from the extra support of a caring adult?

  • Do you know a child who could use the extra boost of self-esteem?

  • Do you know of a child who could use the benefits of opportunities of experiencing positive activities?

If you know of a child who could benefit from the “extras” a Mentor can supply click here:

A Mentor for your Child: Is your child in need of extra support a caring adult can provide?

  • Does your child need a boost in self-esteem?

  • Does your child need another trusting and caring adult in their life?

The Mentor does not replace the parents/guardians, their role or authority in a child’s life. The Mentor is a special person in their lives.  Studies have shown many parents experience an improved relationship with their child because they were given a mentor.

  • We ask for a one-year commitment

  • All Mentors go through extensive background checks and training before they are a matched.

  • Parents/guardians have a voice in the matching process.
